NetSpeed Learning Solutions: Engaging People, Igniting Performance

NetSpeed Learning Releases eBook on Transitioning to the Virtual Classroom

Ebook coverSeattle, WA September 20, 2012 — NetSpeed Learning Solutions has released their first eBook, titled From Chalkboard to Keyboard: Transitioning to the Virtual Classroom. The eBook contains techniques that NetSpeed's instructional design team has learned in developing their own content for webinar deliver, and which they offer in courses in virtual facilitation to trainers making the transition from the face-to-face classroom to the virtual classroom.

The eBook was written by Cynthia Clay, President / CEO of NetSpeed Learning Solutions and author of Great Webinars: How to Create Interactive Learning that is Captivating, Informative and Fun.

As a follow up to the ASTD session, Clay invited everyone who attended the session to join her in a one-hour webinar on May 22. The webinar allowed the participants to experience first-hand the interactivity of an engaging facilitated webinar. 100% of the webinar attendees rated it very good or excellent.

Clay describes her motivation in writing the book: "I remember the first webinar I ever delivered many years ago," she writes. "I didn't know how to incorporate the interaction tools, so I didn't get any feedback from the learners. I felt acutely uncomfortable, with no verbal or non-verbal cues from my audience. As a result, I spoke faster and faster, displaying one PowerPoint slide after another. That frustrating webinar experience sent me on a quest to learn to deliver engaging, interactive, instructor-led web training -- webinars that not only capture and keep the attention of my learners, but also give me the feedback and collaboration I need to be an effective online facilitator. Since that time, I have delivered hundreds of webinars using a variety of web conference platforms. I have learned to maximize engagement and learning while having a lot of fun doing it!"

The free eBook has been extremely popular since its release on September 13, 2012, with several hundred copies being downloaded per day. The eBook is available as a free download from the NetSpeed Learning Solutions website.
